Portland, Oregon

Last year, for my 30th birthday, Joe surprised me with a trip. For his 30th, I had surprised him with a weekend away in Disney and he recycled my “present” - no complaints here.

I was told what to pack, how many days we would be gone for, but nothing else. I had some suspicions and guesses as to where it might be…and was so happy with the end result! Portland, Oregon, had been on my list for years and crawled even higher up the list when one of my friends moved out there.

Once we landed I thought the surprises were over, but my friend wound up picking us up at the airport which was so much more exciting than getting an Uber.

The following day, Joe surprised me yet again with one of my favorite Thailand friends, Angela. She snuck up on me in a cupcake shop and I couldn’t have been more shocked to see her there.

Our week was filled with food, drinks, hikes, more food, and so many friends!
